Volumique

Volumique, a tradition of the Bachelor of Product Design program, aims to fund the final exhibition by opening its doors to Quebec City residents to its Christmas market. At this market, you can find objects both small and large, unique or mass-produced. One thing is certain, every creation take form within La Fabrique, the design studio of Université Laval. In the winter of 2023, a collaboration with Zachary Bélanger gave form to a dual project of unusual nature. In this project, both a rug and a magazine rack share the same theme: tufting.

Learning to tuft wool means immersing oneself in a medium that manifests graphic ideas in our physical world. Here is the result.

What's more complicated than tufting? Woodworking. Although working with wood remains complex, these magazine racks are proof that determination leads to great results.
